When should I arrive at the camp?
Arrival and check in starts at 10:30am Friday October 9th. If you're planning to drive to the camp, please post on our FB group to share rides with those who are flying in. Some fly in on Thursday and stay at a hotel. For more information about flying in, please CLICK HERE.
What do I need to bring to the retreat?
Check out the packing CHECK LIST. If you are flying in, you can order bedding for your cabin, with an additional cost of $15 (includes pillow and towels). If driving, bring bedding for a twin size bed and towels. Please be mindful to bring your own extra towels if you have freshly colored hair, so you don’t ruin your rented towels (and avoid replacement fee).
Bring any nail products to use in class or competition. Extension cords and desk lamps are recommended as some cabins and classrooms don’t have enough lighting and limited power plugs.
Bring any special diet foods and snacks for yourself. There is a shop in downtown Vashon Island for you to shop before you get to the camp.
You will want to prepare for cooler weather and possible rain. You will be walking between venues, so wear comfy clothes and shoes. It’s a relaxed retreat style event, so we welcome you to be relaxed and comfortable! Also bring a flashlight for walking in the dark even though the paths have lighting.
Although each cabins are provided with heater and hot water, it’s not a hotel or vacation resort. If you need hairdryer or other necessities, please bring your own.
How do I get to the Vashon island?
You must take a ferry, then short drive to the camp. Click HERE to find out how to get to the retreat.
**NOTE!!! You want the Fauntleroy/Vashon Ferry. DO NOT TAKE THE SOUTHWORTH FERRY.
Do I have to stay at the camp?
Yes, the cost of camp is all inclusive includes meals and lodging. Although everyone enjoys making new friendships and having bonding time at the cabin, if you want to stay elsewhere, it is up to you.
Can I send a box home with my items from the retreat?
The camp has no way to ship boxes, however there are local techs that often can arrange to ship your items for you instead of flying home with them. You should be able to connect with local attendees on our Facebook group. Also it is always cheaper to check extra bag at the airport, so bring extra suitcase if you are plan to shop a lot.
What are the cabins like?
The cabins have been updated include bunk beds, bathroom, shower and have heat. There are no TVs but you will be able to use your LTE/4G on your phone. Please bring your own toiletries and necessities as there is no amenities like hotels.
Will there be products for sale?
Yes, educators will be selling products and many of the workshops include product kits. Check with each educator’s workshop description for list of items to bring for that workshop and any kits included. We suggest you bring cash as some educators may not be set up to take your credit/debit cards on site.
Do I need to sign up for classes and workshops?
You don't have to sign up for the 1-hour Look&Learn classes. Hands-on Workshops are limited to attendance to 15 people and it's on first come first serve. There will be a link to each educators workshop you will sign up directly with that educator, so please sign-up accordingly or message them to reserve your spot. You can only sign up for one of each 3-hour and 5-hour as all hands-on workshops will take place the same day and time, so you are only able to attend one.
